The main entry point to Fiji is Nadi International Airport, and is located in western Viti Levu, which is the largest island in the Fijian Archipelago. Tourist used to spend several days around Nadi so that it is the starting point to other destinations in the country. But without doubt the Nadi Bay Area does not match with the idyllic image that we all have about South Pacific. This is because it is an area where mangroves are abundant and lacks the splendid reefs mushrooming all over Fiji.
But no one doubts that the area of Nadi Bay has enough attractions to widely justify these days that inevitably we’ll spend in around. And one of the highlights is Wailoaloa Beach, a special place that we believe that you should not miss. Let’s see why:
1. Strategic situation.
Wailaloa is located 10 minutes far from downtown Nadi, 20 minutes from Denarau sea port and 10 minutes from Nadi International Airport, but it’s also the perfect base from which we will perform many excursions
2.Sunsets
Wailaloa sunsets are sublime. Maybe it is because the orientation of the beach, with the Mamanucas islands in the background, or any other reasons, but you will not be able to stop taking pictures.
3. The beach
The sand is not pure white but rather brown, but is perfect for sports, swimming, sunbathing and of course, relaxing under palm trees or for the little ones to enjoy themselves.
4. Dances/Music
Several times a week we can enjoy vibrant performances of traditional Polynesian dances, including the famous fire dances, in many bars and beach restaurants at Wailoaloa.
5. Contact with locals
Wailoaloa is frequented by many Fijians, especially on weekends, creating a very attractive environment. If you fancy for sure you could try the national drink (kava) with them.
6. First hand information
If you’ve just arrived in Fiji, you will be able to get all the first-hand information you may need in Wailoaloa thanks to the local population and the large number of travelers who repeat or end their journey there.
7. A mandatory stop for travelers
There are few places in the World with the highest density of round the world travelers or long trip travelers. Inexhaustible source of experiences and advice.
8. Sports and activities
Beach volleyball, horse riding, golf, football, rugby, jet skis, sailing, fishing and even skydiving freefall, your own way or participating with the Fijians and other travelers. The Nadi Outrigger Club is based in Wailoaloa and there practiced their traditional outrigger canoes. Sometimes when large 6 and 8 seats canoes train, they need volunteers to complete the crew. Do not hesitate to sign up, will not forget the experience.
